Questioning Love
By Diva Sood
Love.
A word so deep, it’s indescribable
A feeling so strong, it can make you miserable.
Love.
I love love.
And I love being in love with you.
You’ll never know the pain I suffered hoping you were mine,
The countless moments you’ve awakened me on a dark night with your moonlight,
You’ll never understand my love for you or the way of my affection,
But to me, my love is complete and it is truly perfection.
When I look at the stars, I picture just you and me above,
And my waiting ear has always yearned for the whisper of your love,
Until, you made it into my life, my path was dim and slow,
But when our paths crossed, streams of light seemed to glow.
I dream of the days we’re older and even more in love,
The long nights we can talk, something I want plenty more of,
The rushed adrenaline and spark when I’m with you feels like I’m in a race,
And the warmth of when I’m in your arms is the most perfect place.
You were my past and you’re my present and I want you in my future,
So please tell me, my love, is it realistic to picture?
Am I just dumb and young and in love?
Are you my perfect match, my hand’s perfect glove?
Love, am I dreaming or is this really true?
Or am I holding on to something that isn’t meaningful to you?
I’m scared of attachment, my heart can’t handle rebreaking,
So please, tell me now, do you plan on staying?
Say you won’t let go, and I’ll give it all to you
Say that you love me and I’ll say I love you too
Loving you is my favorite thing ever but also my biggest fear
What if I trust you and give you my all, and you just disappear
Maybe I don’t love love.
Maybe I just love you.
Love can make me the happiest, love can make me miserable
So, tell me my love, do you love me too?
