Alpen Fury: Wonderland’s Newest Addition

By: Eeshar Pannu

Canada’s Wonderland is known for its thrilling rides, and this summer, they’re opening a brand-new roller coaster called AlpenFury. This isn’t just any ride, it’s going to be the fastest, tallest, and longest launch coaster in Canada. The ride reaches speeds up to 115 km/h, has 9 upside-down loops, and takes you on an adventure that starts inside Wonder Mountain.
More than Just a Ride
What makes AlpenFury different is how it starts. Riders begin inside Wonder Mountain and immediately get launched forward. There’s a second launch that blasts the train right out of the top of the mountain! There are stunning special effects like flames and ice, which seem to crash into each other.
The company that designed AlpenFury is called Premier Rides, and they’ve built roller coasters all around the world. The ride will also be part of a new area in the park called Alpenfest, which is themed as a snowy mountain village.
The Twists and Turns
AlpenFury is filled with exciting and unique features. One part is called the Fire Serpent Roll, which twists and turns so fast it feels like you’re going to hit the mountain walls—but don’t worry, you won’t! Another part is the Skyflyer Loop, which sends riders upside down in a smooth loop where you feel like you’re floating.
Even though this sounds intense, the ride is safe and designed for 18 people per train, using lap bars to keep everyone secure.
Why It’s a Big Deal
AlpenFury will be the 19th roller coaster at Canada’s Wonderland. It’s the first big ride being built since Canada’s Wonderland’s owners (Cedar Fair) merged with Six Flags. That means they’re combining ideas from two big theme park companies to make the park even more exciting.
With this new ride, Canada’s Wonderland continues to be one of the best amusement parks in the country for thrill seekers. If you love speed, flips, and fun, AlpenFury is a must-ride in 2025.
