Akila Shridhar
Co-Editor-in-Chief
Akila Shridhar is a Grade 12 at Emily Carr Secondary School who is currently the editor in chief here at The Carr Scoop. Her belief that everyone should get a voice and has the right to be heard, as well as her love for writing led her to join. In her free time, you’ll find her searching for books to read ignoring the list of books in her “to be read” notes, or rewatching South Indian films pretending she’s never seen them before. This year she’s excited to continue to be a part of a passionate and welcoming team as well as see the change and empowerment that can be brought through the articles this year.
Haya Saleem
In-House Journalist
Haya Saleem is a Grade 9 student and is currently an In-House Journalist at Emily Carr Secondary School. She is eager to make a difference through articles and give everyone a chance to have their voice heard. In her spare time, you can find her curled up with a cozy romance book or drinking a gallon of iced coffee. This year, she hopes to make a significant impact on her school community through her writing.
Ariya Aggarwal
Publication Designer
Ariya Aggarwal is a Grade 10 student at Emily Carr Secondary School, excited to be a publication designer for The Carr Scoop. She is an active volleyball player and loves spending time with her friends. She additionally like listening to music and re-watching some of her favourite shows. Ariya plays the piano and often uses music as a means to unwind and find inspiration. This year, she looks forward to contributing to the club by connecting with the school community.
Adriana Crudele

Adriana is a Grade 12 student at Emily Carr Secondary School and currently serves as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Carr Scoop. She believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to share their thoughts and express themselves freely. Adriana joined the club to put this belief into action by encouraging students to write, share their work, and inspire those around them. In her free time, you’ll find Adriana spending time with friends and family, shopping, or trying out new coffee shops. This year, she is excited to help lead the Carr Scoop and motivate more students to read, write, and share their voices.
Tanmeet Bahia
In-House Journalist
Tanmeet Bahia joined because she love writing and her English teacher recommended joining. Also her older sister had been on the Carr Scoop and enjoyed it a lot. Her hobbies and interests are movies, books, video games, painting, ice skating, music and writing poetry.
Sophia Phan
Social Media Liaison
Sophia Phan is a Grade 10 student attending Emily Carr Secondary School who is excited to be part of the Carr Scoop as a Social Media Liaison. She enjoys hanging out with her friends and has a passion for playing the piano. In her free time, you can find her lost in a good movie, listening to music, using social media or admiring beautiful sunsets. With a belief in the importance of sharing stories and connecting with others, Sophia looks forward to contributing to the club and being part of the media team this year.
Eeshar Pannu
In-House Journalist
Eeshar Pannu is a Grade 10 student at Emily Carr Secondary School and works as an In-House journalist for The Carr Scoop. His passion for sharing his perspective on school events inspired him to join the team. A lifelong fan of fantasy fiction, he enjoys reading series like Percy Jackson & the Olympian and Harry Potter. You can find him playing PlayStation games, improving his basketball skills, or struggling to learn the trumpet in his free time. His passion for student engagement has motivated him to participate in various extracurricular activities. Eeshar is a Grade 9 Music Council and STEM Club representative. This year, Eeshar aims to further publicize the teams’ articles by showcasing captivating stories that resonate with the student body.

Deva Tibet is a grade 10 student and recently moved to Vaughan. She loves to swim and was on the team last year. She likes to read and is currently reading if I had told him. She loves to listen to music, her favourite song is heart bleeds by Malcolm Todd. Her favourite subject is English.
Saamiyah Zaki
Social Media Liaison
Saamiyah Zaki is a Grade 9 student at Emily Carr who holds the position of Social Media Liaison for The Carr Scoop. She joined The Carr Scoop because she wanted to learn new things and help others’ voices be heard. In her free time, you’ll find her playing badminton, cooking, or reading cheesy romantic novels. She is also part of the MSA, DECA, and Student Wellness Club, among others. Saamiyah has a strong fascination with politics and astronomy. This year, she looks forward to making a difference at her school and working with the media.
